About this course

Content

Optics (geometrical optics, waveoptics, optical instruments).

Electrotechnology and electronics (DC, AC, semiconductor components, elementary learning about circuits, logic circuits).Boolean algebra. Instrumental methods of analysis (spectrophotometry, fluorescence assays, atomic absorption spectroscopy, flame emission fotometry,
electrochemistry). Calculations on results. Nuclear medicin focused on
radiation physics, nuclear medicine measurement methods and radiation protection.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge
The candidate:
- has knowledge of physical principles that some anlytical methods and measurement techniques is based on
- has knowledge of limitations and possible errors in analytical methods
- has knowledge of simple circuits
- has knowledge of particle- and wave- properties for electromagnetic radiation
- has knowledge of how lenses are used in imaging and enlargement
- has knowledge of simple Boolean algebra
- has knowledge of basic radiation physics
- has knowledge of the use of nuclearmedical methodes and radiation protection
Skills
The candidate:
- can do calcuations on measured signals from instruments
- can do calculation on simple circuits
- can do calculations on refraction, reflection and interference
- can do calculations on lensoptics
- can do calculations on simple Boolean algebra

Teaching methods

Lecture,labcours and exercises with guidance. Expected total workload: 190 hrs per student. Lectures : 52 hrs. Labcourse: 9 hrs. Exercises: 8 hrs. Selfstudy: 118 hrs.
