Documentation of Vocational and Vocational Didactic Work

The academic content of this course consists of a close examination of the teaching profession in reference to professional competence, and the profession’s requirement to interpret educational steering documents. This course focuses on the development and usage of expedient documentation as a basis for professional discussion, and the assessment of quality in both vocational work and the competences; both are part of «a didactic subject». Other important components of this course include the production, analysis, and discussion of various forms of documentation, generated by the students’ vocational and didactic work; these documents will include visual images, written text, sound, and film. Furthermore, students will develop an understanding of how the documents mentioned above can be used in vocational and didactic work. The students will also develop competence in pairing the aforementioned documents to their appropriate purposes. Additionally, the course will include knowledge in reference to coaching, facilitation for and supervision of adjusted study programs, differentiation of interests based on the individual's learning requirements, and the labor market`s competence needs. The assessment of learning outcomes -- based on observation, documentation, and assessment of quality of vocational work – will be included in the course. Lastly, the discussion and practical application of democratic learning processes that strengthen the individual's autonomy, and the development of a learning environment that is characterized by mutual respect, equality, and interaction is also an important component of the course.

The student can
- plan and deliberate interest-differentiated, relevant vocational learning modified to the individual's learning needs and educational plans.
- document and present work processes and the results of vocational work, as a basis for academic conversation and the assessment of quality of vocational and academic work
- use varied forms of visual and verbal documentation of vocational and didactic work as a basis for professional conversations and the assessment of quality in reference to documentation.
- choose content and working methods that are socially responsible and adapted to the branch of the trade’s development, together with the individual student/apprentice.
- lead and coach the processes of learning in vocational didactic work - individually and/or in groups.
- contribute to the development of a democratic learning environment recognized by participation, and positively influence the individual’s autonomy.
- describe and identify challenging and critical parts of work processes in ways that give necessary insight of the work as a basis for professional conversations and evaluations of quality in vocational and didactic work.
- analyze the market’s need for vocational work and the branches’ requests for competence.
