Archaeology as an Academic Discipline

This course provides students increased insight into what archaeology is, how the discipline came to be, and what role it has played in different societies, both in the present and in the past. Through this, a view of the mechanisms governing the discipline, both internally and externally, is achieved.

Students should gain additional insight into the discipline’s research methodology and its role in the archaeological research process.
