Lean Production and Quality Management

The course is founded on the principles of Continuous Improvement, Lean Production, and Statistical Quality Management. The students are introduced to methods and techniques for process improvement, eliminating waste, efficient production and assuring the quality. The course id focused on premises of Pull Production and Just-in-Time philosophy, continuous flow, and defect-free production.

After completing the subject of Production and Quality Engineering, the student will have the following overall learning outcomes: Knowledge The candidate shall have basic knowledge of 1) Principles and techniques in Lean Production 2) Principles of production management. 3) How quality can be built into production processes.

Skills
The candidate should be able to apply the subject in upper secondary school and company education.


General competence The candidate should be able to relate acquired knowledge to his / her own subject area and apply this in his / her own teaching plans in school and company
