Conditions for learning in working life and society

The course deals with adults' conditions for learning in working life, education, and society through analyses of the importance of learning for the individual, for companies, organisations and society. Conditions for learning is elucidated through perspectives, theories and models. These contribute with various frameworks that are used to understand and analyse conditions for learning, such as topics like motivation, learning, knowledge sharing, reflection, and experience. Through the development of portfolio contributions, students work on current issues to practice analytical reasoning based on practical situations in working life, education, and society. When developing a portfolio the student will also practice reflection by using perspectives, theories and models.

A student who has completed the course is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes, defined in knowledge, skills and general competence:

Knowledge:

• has knowledge of perspectives, theories and models that elucidate conditions for learning in working life and society.

Skills:

• is able to communicate about academic issues and analyzes of conditions for learning in working life, education and society.
• can use perspectives, theories and models in independent analyzes of conditions for learning in learning environments in which adults participate.

General knowledge:

• is able to critically evaluate and disseminate research-based knowledge, as well as discuss current scientific issues with others.

Teaching in the course is session-based and consists of lectures and seminars. Further information about mandatory activities will be provided at the start of the semester.
