Colloid and Polymer Chemistry, Specialization Project

The course will be a laboratory project within Colloid- and polymer science. The project will be given within current research activity in the group or, in cooperation with faculty, in cooperation with exteral research insitutes or industry. The project work will include definition and limitation of the work to be performed, literature search in current literature, a time schedule for the project, experimental work and interpretation and reporting of results.
Litterature studies will also be possible.
An additional topic of 7.5 stp has to be chosen, so that the total credits for the spesialization will be 22.5 stp.

The educational goal of this subject is to provide the students with in-depth, topic-relevant knowledge of colloid and/or polymer chemistry as it relates to their chosen, specialized project, with emphasis on the applied aspects of said scientific disciplines. Also, the students will allow the students to develop skills in individual project planning, oral and written presentational techniques, and systematic data collection and –treatment. This subject is mandatory for students wanting to pursue a Masters degree in either Surface and colloid- or Polymer chemistry.

Individual or team-based project work under senior guidance. The project includes an oral presentation that represents 10 % of the grade on the project.
