Environmental and Hydrogeology, Specialization Course

For students planning to take Specialization project in Engineering geology of rocks, Engineering geology of soil and Environmental geology/Hydrogeology, the following 7,5 sp topic is to be selected:

Engineering geological field and laboratory methods (professor Bjørge Brattli, professor Bjørn Nilsen, assoc.prof. Krishna Panthi)

This topic includes field course at Snåsa in August and laboratory work.

For students not planning Specialization project and master thesis in Engineering geology of rocks, Engineering geology of soil and Environmental/Hydrogeology, and as a general temporary solution for Autumn 2013, topics of 3,75 may be selected from the following list:

Hydrogeology,
Quaternary geology,
Applied engineering geology,
Minerals and rocks,
Geographical information systems for mineral extraction,
Spreading of oil in porous media,
Engineering geological planning,
Engineering geological laboratory methods,
Climatic related landslide processes,
Thermogeology

Ingress:
- This course will provide in-depth knowledge in the field.

Knowledge:
- The student will acquire specialized knowledge in support of project completion in the field.

- The student will be able to find scientific literature and draw out the main elements that are relevant to the project.

- Increased understanding of the field.

Field- and laboratory assignments,and/or guided self study, in some cases supplemented by exercises, seminars and individual lectures.
