About this course

Content

Fundamental operation of simple circuits with transistors and diodes. Practical exercises in lab and through project work. Lectures on applications of electronics in advanced systems.

Learning outcomes

Short description:
The course shall give the students an introduction to working with projects.

Knowledge:
- Understand the theory for first order linear analog systems in time and frequency domain.
- Understand the theory for small signal analysis of FET circuits.

Skills:
- Apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems
- Dimension electronic circuits with respect to different criteria
- Document project work in a report.

Genreal skills
- Collaboration in a project team.

Teaching methods

Lectures, mandatory exercises, lab and project work. Portfolio assessment is the basis for the grade in the course. The portfolio includes a final written exam (50%) and lab/project work (50%). The results for the parts are given in %-scores, while the entire portfolio is assigned a letter grade. At a resit examination, written examination may be changed to oral.
