  • Assembly of parts

  • Standards for machine drawings
  • 2D presentation images and renderings from 3D model
  • From 2D digital sketch as basis for 3D modeling
  • 3D scanning, transfer and basis for 3D modeling
  • 3D printing of digital model

Learning outcomes

The students shall:

  • Have a basic understanding of the design process from idea to 3D model
  • Know commonly used methods for 3D modeling and variant construction
  • Be able to prepare documentation and 2D machine drawing according to Standards
  • Have knowledge of how to take technical documentation into account when preparing your own product
  • Have knowledge of methods and techniques for designing complex surfaces

Skills:

  • Be able to master "Feature-based", parametric modeling
  • Be able to realize a product as a 3D model with drawings and documentation
  • Be able to use 3D tools to design creative solutions and build complex surface models
  • Be able to use hybrid modeling with solid and surface models
  • Have skills in digitizing physical models
  • Be able to visualize your product through additive manufacturing (3D printing) and reflect on your own work

General competence:

  • Can convey central subject matter, present work and justify choices in the form of reports and oral work
  • Can plan and carry out varied tasks over time, in line with ethical requirements and guidelines

For online students:

The course will mainly be carried out as an online course of study. An online race means that all communication between supervisor and students is organized through a digital learning platform.

For all:

The course requires 3D modeling software to be used for exercises and assignments (free student versions available).

Use of your own laptop is required (the machine must be suitable for CAD).

The Autodesk Fusion 360 program works on Windows and Apple OS.
