Advanced Joinery

The course is based on achieved learning outcomes in TBBY1017 Introduction to carpentry, and goes deeper into the carpentry subject through selected examples of topics introduced in TBBY1017.

Other examples can be maintenance, repair or restoration and surface treatment of doors, windows, stairs, filling panels, moldings etc. or production and maintenance of special tools necessary for the production and restoration of the above-mentioned building parts.

TBBY1019 must therefore be seen in close connection with TBBY1017. It is a prerequisite that the student has either completed TBBY1017 previously, or completes this in parallel with TBBY1019.

• has specialized knowledge of a limited area in the traditional carpentry profession
• knows practical, antiquarian restoration work in the carpentry profession

• can use specialized knowledge in a limited area in the traditional carpentry profession with regard to materials, methods, procedures and tools for the manufacture of new building parts or for the repair or restoration of old
• can identify and describe damage to carpentry building parts as a starting point for measures in restoration work
