Traditional Advanced Skill 3

TBBY3101 Tradisjonsfaglig fordypning 3 is a part of the basic education of this Bachelors program and students are learning by doing. Through participation and training the student will gain knowledge and skills in performing the traditional building crafts. From a craftsman view, issues linked to local, regional and national building and artisan traditions, the traditional use of techniques, tools and materials, processual authenticity, building history, constructions and performance of practical building techniques. Different methods and aids are used in teaching this subject.

Knowledge: The candidate has good knowledge of regional traditional techniques. He/she should have good knowledge of the artisan's role and insight into practical antiquarian restoration work. The candidate has good knowledge of documentation medthods for material use, techniques and procedures. Skills: The candidate kan use several relevant tools and has good knowledge about relevant methods and procedures in this special field. The candidate has good skills in traditional and regional work techniques. General competence: The candidate can describe and communicate knowledge and techniques from their own traditional practice in relation to other professional groups and disciplines. The candidate can document the work on traditional buildings in relation to material usee, techniques and procedures.
