Spanish 1

The course gives an introduction to Spanish language with an emphasis on pronunciation, listening comprehension, basic grammar and written and oral exercises.

KNOWLEDGE
The candidate
-is expected to gain oral proficiency in the Spanish language, culture and civilization (level A1 / level 1)
-is expected to gain proficiency in the Spanish sound system
-is expected to gain proficiency in basic Spanish grammar for practical usage
-is expected to learn how to address other people in a correct and polite manner


SKILLS
The candidate
-is expected to understand and make him- or herself understood at level A1 / level 1
-is expected to read and understand simple texts
-is expected to be able to write short texts
-is expected to be able to engage in simple conversations about familiar topics in Spanish
-is expected to be able to present simple, prepared topics
-is expected to be able to pose and answer simple questions

A combination of lectures and seminars.
Both the written work and the oral test must be approved within given deadlines for the student to be able to sit the exam. It is the responsibility of the student to keep informed about deadlines and requirements for this course at the start of term.

Approved obligatory assignments are valid for 2 semesters (the semester in which the approval is given, plus the following semester). All obligatory assignments must be completed in the same semester.
