Qualitative Research Methods

In the lectures we will present and discuss the qualitative social research individuality, as well as various qualitative data generation principles and principles of analysis. The course emphasizes a reflection of how the various principles can produce various kinds of qualitative data. In the seminars the students will get some practical training in qualitative data generation and analysis of qualitative data. Some seminars will be based on presentation of research papers and chapters in class.

Knowledge - the student shall:
- have insight into the principles of qualitative research methods
- be familiar with the challenges associated with the use of various qualitative research methods

Skills - the student shall demonstrate the ability to:
- use various qualitative methods of data generation and analysis

Lectures and seminars 6 hours per week, according to the lecture plan. Form of assessment: term paper and oral examination.
