About this course

Content

This is an introductory course on the the fundamental principles and processes in logistics and supply chain management(SCM). The students will learn about the challenges of managing the flow of goods, information, and finances across supply chains and the interconnected nature of supply chains and their impact on a firm’s value chain.

The students will learn about:

  • fundamental principles of logistics and SCM.
  • core elements of the supply chain: sourcing, production, distribution, and reverse logistics.
  • logistics and supply chain strategy.
  • supply chain networks, integration and coordination.
  • warehouse and distribution management.
  • inventory management basics.
  • demand and sales forecasting.
  • risk management in supply chains.
  • green logistics.
  • sustainability and reverse logistics.
  • cybersecurity and ethical challenges in digital supply networks.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

At the end of this course, students will have gained:

  • understanding of the fundamental principles in logistics and supply chain management.
  • understanding of the different supply chain strategies and their application at the firm level.
