Childhood - Family - Child protection II

To develop general knowledge about perspectives and general theories for the understanding of childhood, family and child welfare and the changing processes that are taking place, including obtaining an insight into recent research that thematically investigates the practice of child welfare.The student is also expected to develop the ability to lokk at research critically. The course will address current issues and is therefore likely to vary somewhat from one course to the next.

The student is supposed to develop general knowledge about perspectives and central theories for the understanding of childhood, family and child welfare and the changing processes that are taking place, including obtaining an insight into recent research that thematically investigates the practice of child welfare.
The student is also expected to develop the ability to look at research critically.

Teaching method and activities: Lectures, seminar, written assignments.
Form of assessment: Term paper with given topic. The topic/assignment is normally handed out during the third lecture week.
The term paper is approximately 15 pages long.
