Childhood - Family - Child protection I

The course gives a survey on perspectives and central theories for the understanding of childhood, family and child welfare and the processes of change that are taking place.
Emphasis will be put on recent research that thematically investigates the practice of child welfare. The course will also address current issues and is therefore likely to vary somewhat from one course to the next.

The student is supposed to develop general knowledge about perspectives and central theories for the understanding of childhood, family and child welfare and the changing processes that are taking place, including obtaining an insight into recent research that thematically investigates the practice of child welfare.

Teaching method and activities: Lectures and seminars.
Form of assessment: 4-hour written exam.
