Work and Organizational Psychology

This course on work and organisational psychology includes teaching that will deal with issues in working life where psychological skills and qualifications are important. This applies for example to areas such as business culture, organisational change, sickness absence, working environment, health and safety, working hours and sleep, recruitment, management and personal development.

After completion of the course the student will have knowledge of work and organizational psychology and will be able to apply these theories on practical issues.

Knowledge:

• The student has general knowledge about central theories and research with in the field of work- and organizational psychology.

• The student have more in-depth knowledge about a topic that the student choose, psychosocial work environment, conflicts, organizational change, team work, sick leave, leadership and management, MTO (man technology and organization), safety.

Skills:

• The student can make a research question relevant for organizational psychology.

General competence:

• The student can reflect upon a research question within the field of organizational psychology.
• The student has good skills in making presentations based on a research question chosen by the student.
• The student has knowledge about APA standard for written work.
