About this course

Content

The course gives a thorough training in the biological foundation of perception and behaviour with particular emphasis on principles characterizing functional biological systems. The scientific topics include sensory/motor systems, emotions, hormones and plasticity/learning.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge:

  • The student has a thorough knowledge of the anatomical, physiological and genetic principles related to human behavior and awareness,
  • The student has a deeper understanding of the research methods used in biological psychology.

Skills:

  • The student can discuss writing scientific issues in biological psychology, based on theory and research findings.

General competence:

  • The student has good knowledge of key issues, theory and literature related to biological psychology.
  • The student can discuss scientific findings in the light of theory and key issues.
