Clinical Practice 1

The aim of the course is to make the students aquainted with clinical psychological work. The main question is "What is therapy an how can I, based on my personel qualifications, become a good psychologist?"

Knowledge:
The student has some basic knowledge about the importance of communication skills in practicing clinical psychology.
Skills:
The student has experienced the importance of relational competence and communication skills for practicing clinical psychology.
General competence:
The student has some basic understanding of the relationship between personal qualifications and professional competence for clinical practice.

With the exception of a few lectures and one day external practice, the class is divided into groups of about 10 students led by a lecturer and a student assistant. Activity in groups consists of exercises and discussions related to learning objectives, as well as pre-and post-production associated with practice. Mandatory participation in lecture of ethics, suitability and confidentiality as well as the external practice is essential to get the topic approved, and in addition to this, written assignments must be submitted.
Students must have at least 80% attendance in order to pass the course. Ethics lecture is not counted in the 80% because it is a separate mandatory activity. This course is evaluated according to the Guidelines for the implementation and evaluation of clinical practice
