About this course

Content

The course emphasizes theories about organizations and leadership. Innovation and change strategies will be discussed in relation to the question about efficiency in organizations. Politics, leadership, opportunity of action and energy in a system will be discussed in connection to strategies. Schools as organizations must also be seen from this perspective. Among other things, the focus is put on how the counsellor is able to understand and influence such a system, so that the relationship between individual and system is deemed satisfactory. How can the counsellor help the client to see and develop him/herself as a principal part of various systems? Students will participate in seminars where they will present and discuss various topics.

Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to promote knowledge about, and insight into, central theories about the interaction between individuals, groups and organizations.

Teaching methods

Teaching methods and activities: 2 hours per week and 1 hour seminar per week.
Compulsory activity: Participation in 80 % of the teaching program and practical-methodical training.
Assessment: Essay (8-10 pages). The topic must be approved by the lecturer before submission. The tasks are to be presented and discussed in groups before submission. Grading: A-F.
