Specialized Master's Topic 2: Area of Specialization

The content of NORD3502 will be defined by the reading list, which is supposed to have a clear scholarly profile. The student may follow one (or more) NORD2000-course and use the reading list for the NORD2000-course as part of the reading list for NORD3502.
Alternatively, the student may choose the reading list freely.
The course will then be an independent study.
The scholarly profile of the reading list should not be identical to
that of the student’s master’s thesis. Moreover, the reading list for NORD3502 should not overlap to any great extent with the literature
list for the student’s master’s thesis. The reading list should also not overlap with those of previous courses that the student has taken.

Literary variant:
The readings consist of 7 fictional works and 3 theoretical works.

Linguistic variant:
The student composes an individual reading list of approx. 900 pages

Knowledge:
The candidate has:
- thorough theoretical and empirical knowledge of a chosen area of study
- detailed knowledge of the scientific methods of the discipline
- a conscious and critical awareness of various sources of information

Proficiency:
The candidate can:
- apply and reflect on theoretical and methodological approaches to a limited area of study
- conclude and process academic material and prepare a lecture within a set time frame
- present a lecture in a set time frame
- convey on academic issues, analyses and conclusions within the discipline

The same as for the chosen NORD2000 courses, or independent study.

Approved obligatory assignment is valid for 2 semesters (the semester in which the approval is given, plus the following semester).
