Composition

30 hours of teachingThe course is based on a broad understanding of the concept of composition that embraces creative work with music and dance. The term embraces process and product, improvisation and arrangement.The course focuses on the students' artistic and didactic work on composing and arranging music, including dance. This involves, among other things, physical and technological working methods. Through the course, the student develops skills to compose and arrange music and dance in different ways and thought for different purposes and in different contexts, as well as develop knowledge and skills to do didactic work where elementary school students compose and arrange music and dance. The course will include training on some composition and arrangement techniques, instrument knowledge and various forms of notation, as well as the use of digital compositing / arranging tools.

Student active working methods with group work and individual assignments under supervision. The course's activities are seen in the context of the topic "Production" (7.5 credits Autumn 5th year), so that the course's work requirements are used in productions.
