Medicine semester 2D

In semester 2D, the following subject areas are taught: obstetrics and women's diseases, children's diseases, skin diseases/venereal diseases, plastic surgery, rheumatology and infectious diseases.

In connection with the above-mentioned subjects, teaching is given in microbiology, pharmacology, pathology and diagnostic imaging.

All Norwegian students including Norwegian exchange students (not the foreign exchange students) must also during the autumn of the fourth academic year choose a topic for their main thesis, make an agreement with a supervisor and submit a protocol for approval by 31 January of the following semester. In addition, there will be teaching in the longitudinal threads "Scientific competence", "Health promotion and prevention" and "Communication, patient contact and professionalism" which will run from start to finish throughout the entire medical course.

The course Medicine semester 2D is taught in Trondheim (course code MDT4043), in Ålesund (course code MDA4043) and in Levanger (course code MDL4043). Prerequisites, examination forms and learning outcome descriptions are identical, but the learning activities vary at the different locations.
