Project management, research and communication

The course focuses on project management and the communicative processes that accompany project work. Students gain professional knowledge and practical experience related to project management, project development and research communication.

KNOWLEDGE

At the end of the course, the student has knowledge of:

• basic principles of research project management, including the researcher's reflexivity and positionality
• central principles, opportunities and challenges in research communication

SKILLS

At the end of the course, the student can

• identify challenges related to communicative processes in different project processes
• communicate a project's ideas, goals, assumptions, challenges and solutions both orally and in writing
• communicate the status and results of projects orally and in writing with different recipients in mind.

The course is practically oriented and lectures are followed up with assignments related to one's own master's thesis project. Assignment requirements will be announced at the start of the semester. Active participation in the teaching (lectures, seminars and possibly courses) is a central part of the course, and attendance is compulsory (75%). Students who do not meet the attendance requirement may, upon application to the department, be allowed to complete a compensatory assignment. The compensatory work will be adapted to the extent of the absence and may be written and/or oral.
