Theories and Methods of Heritage Management

The course gives an introduction to the study of Cultural Heritage on master level. The course aims to introduce relevant theory, and to apply theories to discuss relevant problems within the field of heritage management.

A candidate who passes this course is expected to have the following learning outcome according to the course curriculum, defined as knowledge and skills:

Knowledge:
The Candidate:
- Has a basic knowledge of the management of Cultural Heritage in Norway and abroad.
- Has a basic knowledge of theories and methods used in management, presentation and interpretation of Cultural Heritage.

Skills:
The Candidate:
- Has some basic skills in combining theoretical and practical issues within the field of Cultural Heritage.
- Is by using her basic knowledge of Cultural heritage able to work deeper into central issues regarding the theory and practice of Cultural Heritage.
