Introduction to Drama and Theatre

The course is part of the Bachelor's programme and the One-year programme in Drama and Theatre and provides an introduction to the field of study. Topics for instruction will include the distinctive character of the academic field, its forms of expression and relevant avenues of inquiry.

Upon successful completion of the course the student will have:
- Knowledge about academic thinking- and writing, on the basis of the academic field's central subjects or forms of expression.

Skills

Upon successful completion of the course the student will know how to:
- use subject-specific, academic ways of thinking- and writing for understanding, evaluate, analyse, and discuss the academic field's central subjects or forms of expression.

Instruction involves lectures, subject-specific seminars and individual assignments with a focus on reading and writing practice.

Students are required to stay updated on any information given by the department or course director via Blackboard.

This course is taught in Norwegian only.
