Quantitative method

The course gives an introduction to the most important methods for collecting and analyzing quantitative data. It presents questions regarding the sampling, measurements, experiment and survey design, quantitative data analysis and statistical processing. SPSS is used.

Knowledge - Students must:

• have an advanced understanding of methodological principles, core concepts and analyzes within quantitative research.
• have in-depth knowledge of possibilities and limitations related to conclusions based on statistical analyzes

Skills - Students must:

• be able to independently analyze, report and critically evaluate quantitative data, as well as master the most common statistical methods
• be able to read professional literature and research results in a critical way.

General competence - Students must:

• be able to use the statistical software SPSS
• be able to apply relevant theories and concepts in discussions about research methodology.
• be able to independently plan a project's research and analysis design and apply appropriate statistical analysis techniques.

Compulsory participation in the pre-course. Teaching methods and activities: Lectures and excercises. There are exercises in analysis of a quantitative material.
