Quantitative Methods and Statistics

The course gives an introduction to the most important methods for collecting and analyzing quantitative data. It presents questions regarding the sampling, measurements, experiment and survey design, quantitative data analysis and statistical processing. SPSS is used.

The students shall be able to: 1) prepare and perform quantitative surveys, 2)analyse, report and evaluate quantitative data, this includes being able to use the most common statistical methods, 3) read scientific publications with a critical view.

The course starts with one week intensive compulsory pre-course in methods. Teaching methods and activities: Lectures and excercises.There are exercises in analysis of a quantitative material.
