About this course

Content

Portfolio and exhibition is a design project where the student is allowed to develop techniques and skills in graphic design and project management. The module builds on knowledge and skills the student has acquired earlier in the programme and is to a large extent student led. The student shall build a personal portfolio consisting of ten projects from the previous courses and produce it and put forward for assessment and final exhibition. Also, the class will be responsible for project management of the portofolio production (print and binding), and organising and promoting the final exhibition. A workshop in product photography is included.

Learning outcomes

The student shall develop further as a designer, specifically within the field portfolio design and design for self promotion. The module entails the structuring and design of a large content matter gathered in a comprhensive portfolio (typically around 200 A3-pages), design for navigation and access, hierarchy, composition of text and images/illustrations, and technical preparations for print including colour management and pre-press and also binding of the final portfolio. The student will also have to make use of methods for project management and marketing to meet deadlines for the production of portfolios and to promote the final exhibition.

Teaching methods

Project, with supervision (formative-iterative evaluation).
