About this course
Content
Students participate in practical activities and measure volume and intensity through observation, heart rate, accelerometry, and questionnaires. Measures of activity are analyzed within theories of motivational climate, play, interaction and well-being. The course emphasises alternative ways of organizing physical activity, training and sports. The relation between organization and intensity in different activities is also addressed. Analyzing data demands the use of excel or spss and part of the course will provide a short introduction to these programs.
Learning outcomes
Knowledge the student shall:
* gain a foundation for practical work with sport and physical activity.
* gain knowledge of sports content through practical exercises where students participate and collect data which enables them to describe the variability and intensity of the activity.
Skills - the student shall demonstrate the ability to:
* understand activity from a physical, social and interaction perspective.
* respond to a given topic in an analytical and discursive manner through the use of scientific texts.
Teaching methods
Throughout the semester there are lectures, practical activities and group sessions. Certain weeks are reserved for writing the assignment/paper.
Form om assesment: Written assignment/paper.
The paper is written individually based on data from the participation in practical activities and it is expected that relevant theory is applied. Extent of the paper is 12-15 pages using Times New Roman 12, line spacing 1.5. Tutoring is available for the paper.
The course is reserved for students admitted to the bachelor's program in Social Science and Sport Science. Exchange students interested in the course must consult the Department
