Film and Narration

FILM1010 is a base level course which provides the student with basic knowledge of film as a medium and an art form.

Knowledge
Upon successful completion of the course the student will have:
- knowledge of terms related to cinematic storytelling and film style.
- knowledge of leading and alternative narrative styles and their influence.
- knowledge of key film genres and their influence.

Skills
Upon successful completion of the course the student will know how to:
- identify and discuss basic components of film.
- identify and discuss key film genres.
- discuss classic cinematic storytelling and alternative narrative styles.

Lectures, film screenings and seminars.

Students are required to stay updated on any information given by the department or course director via Blackboard. This course is taught in Norwegian only.
