About this course

Content

The course focuses on written communication in various types of organizations. Texts are analyzed in relation to knowledge development, cooperation and interaction models, processes of change, training models, and communication problems. There is particular focus on text quality and writing skills.


Learning outcomes

The aim is to provide the student with a theoretical and practical foundation for describing and analyzing written communication in education and in the work place.

Teaching methods

Lectures and seminars. There will be a group project i relation to a school, a public office or a private company. The students will present their project to the organization involved.
More on assessment: A written assignment and a written exam. The written assignment is a project report. The written assignment/project report should be 10-15 pages typed on A4 paper (line spacing 1.5). Both the project report and the written exam need to be approved in order to pass the course. If the course is not passed, the student must retake the part(s) which he/she failed. In special cases, students may apply to the Department for an alternative assessment in the form of a take-home exam to substitute the written exam.
