About this course
Content
The aim of the course is to give students a theoretical foundation for being able to describe and analyze issues in relation to written and oral communication in organizations. Such issues link communication to knowledge development and the construction of meaning, cooperation and interaction models, processes of change, training models, and communication problems in relation to language, gender and culture. The course is theoretical, but at the same time problem-oriented. Cooperation with administration/business is intended, where the students work in describing a specific issue in relation to written and oral communication, and suggest possible solutions.
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to give students a theoretical foundation in order to be able to describe and analyze issues in relation to written and oral communication in organizations.
Teaching methods
Lectures and seminars. The students will present parts of the project in its different phases. More on assessment: Portfolio assessment. The portfolio must consist of a short project draft, a chapter draft and a report. The size of the written submissions are set at the start of the semester. The report must also contain a reflection on the work with the project, and on the work with the external partners. Each contribution to the portfolio will be assessed individually, but the grade will be based on a total evaluation which will consider progress through the course. The whole portfolio has to be redone if the student fails.
