Læringsmål
Knowledge: After completing the course, the student should have knowledge about: nursing in Norway and the Norwegian health care system reflection as a method for advancing nursing practice holistic and evidence-based nursing care for relevant patient groups and their families health promotion and disease prevention in the relevant area of health care services
Skills: After completing the course, the student should be able to: assess, plan, implement and evaluate holistic and evidence-based nursing care for patients/ clients in the relevant area of health care services, using literature (including research), practical skills and experiences from prior clinical placements. promote health and prevent disease for relevant individuals and groups provide rationale, supported by literature, for nursing actions regarding the nursing care of patients in the relevant area of health care services.
General competence: After completing the course, the student should be able to: reflect critically upon relevant aspects of nursing practice and suggest appropriate changes and options based on literature findings, including research. reflect upon similarities/differences in nursing care provided in Norway compared to their home country, using literature (including research) and experiences from their clinical placement in Norway.
Læringsformer og aktiviteter
Lectures, individual course work, group discussions, self study, clinical studies (placement). Mandatory assignments: Passed clinical placement (see detailed description in the "Plan for clinical placement"), one supervision session regarding the exam paper, at least 70 % attendance in lectures and 90 % attendance in clinical placement.
