Medical Research, Ethical Aspects, Epidemiological and Statistical Methods

Research protocol, ethical aspects of research, study designs, bias and confounding, interaction, descriptive statistics. probability, probability distributions, random error, hypothesis tests.

This course will be teached in Nepal, Kathmandu University.

Homework in advance of the course: Write a draft of research protocol to be used in course workshops.
3 weeks full time course with lectures, workshops and group works.
Week one: Research protocol and Ethics in medical research.
Week two: Epidemiology and Critical reading.
Week three: Medical statistics.

Research protocol draft is mandatory (for access to course exam)
All course activities is mandatory. Leave/Absence can be granted for maximum 20% of the total course activities. According to NTNU's regulations, access to course exam will be denied if absence is over 20% .
