Internship - Globalisation and Sustainable Development

The internship will provide students with insights into how different organisations work with globalisation and sustainable development in practice. It will also provide students with the opportunity to use the qualifications acquired through their study programme in practical contexts. The experience from the internship will increase the student`s awareness of their own competence, contribute to the student`s academic development and constitute work experience that will be valued and useful in a professional career. During the internship, the students will undertake an independent assignment that will end in an individual report. The individual assignment has to fulfill the academic requirements of a master's level programme and be informed by relevant theories, topics and concepts connected to the programme. The following are examples of the areas of research covered by the programme, and which the internship project could relate to: International Relations, Social Change, Sustainable Development, Mobility, Conflict and Peace, Cross-Cultural Management, Knowledge and Technology Transfer. It is the student's responsibility to obtain a professionally relevant internship for a minimum of 14 weeks.

A student who has completed this course should have the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence: Knowledge : - have obtained in-depth knowledge of how an organization works in practice with globalisation and sustainable development. Skills : - can conduct an independent project where they apply the academic knowledge they have acquired in the course on concrete challenges organisations work with related to globalisation and sustainable development. General competence : - have practical work experience and competence in developing networks, writing reports, and engaging in analysis that connects theory and practice.

The students will have individual supervision from NTNU and the company/organization.
