Faglig innhold

In this course students will obtain real world experience by undertaking an internship in an institution (governmental-, non-governmental institutions or private enterprises) involved in management of nature and natural resources. The internship focuses on how best practices can be implemented in order to reach Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s). The student will be integrated in an established institution and work together with professionals responsible for finding the good and practical solutions for sustainable societal and economic development within environmental boundaries.

Knowledge and competence

After completing the course, the student will be able to:

  • demonstrate practical experience within sustainable management of natural resources.
  • apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world working situation (science for management impact).
  • demonstrate in-depth knowledge within the focus area of the project and the societal role of the institution.
  • can apply knowledge and skills which can contribute to solve current challenges within the field of sustainable development.

General competence:

After completing the course, the student will:

  • have an increased awareness on own competence and academic identity
  • be able to collaborate and communicate with professionals
  • be more prepared for the working-career.

Læringsformer og aktiviteter

The student must be present at the host institution for 15 days (120 hrs). The internship will be individually adapted into the students course program in the 3rd semester.

The student will work on a predefined project during the internship which has to be approved by course coordinator/academic supervisor, contact person at host institution and student. The internship contract needs to be signed by all partners.
