Artistic In-Depth Studies 1

Artistic In-Depth Studies 1 and 2 form the main part of the performing Master's degree. The individual work with artistic expression and skills is the main part of Artistic In-Depth Studies 1. In addition the students should work with a topic for in-depth studies to be continued in the 2. year. The academic and artistic content is determined by the student and supervisor in collaboration.

The student must at the end of the fall term make a preliminary project description for the chosen in-depth-study, including working methods and progress plan as part of the master agreement.

• can analyze and relate to material from artistic development work and research and use this in their work

• has developed their artistic skills to a high level
• shows artistic integrity and maturity
• can shape, reflect on and present an idea for an artistic development work
• shows ambitions, independence and and professional relevance in their choice of repertoire
• have some experience with relevant source material (literature, scores, recordings, etc.) in performing or creative work

General competence

The candidate

• is able to familiarize oneself with and define an in-depth study area with relevance for one's own practice/creation
• shows independence towards demanding artistic challenges and by initiating, implementing and leading various projects
• can apply knowledge to expand their musical perspective and carry out independent artistic development work

Individual instruction supporting the artistic project.

Accompaniment for applicable instruments.

Supervision.

Master Forum and master workshops.

Compulsory participation in relevant projects and project weeks.

It is the student's responsibility, in cooperation with the teacher, to keep track of appointments of teaching and activity in the course.

Instruction is obligatory and demands minimum 80% attendance.
