Læringsmål

After this course, the student should have a general overview of the systems engineering process including a wide spectrum of issues in relation with system architecture, such as: Processes, Business, Role and task of the system architect team, Roadmapping, System Architect toolkit, Technical, Skills, and Psycho Social issues. The student will be able to understand complex engineering projects, and to approach complex projects through collaboration across different engineering fields as well as project management and communication. The student should understand the complexity of large engineering projects, the needs of different stake holders and how to communicate across different disciplines. The student should also understand the importance of cooperation and information exchange in complex projects.

Læringsformer og aktiviteter

The course is given during one week, and is organized with lectures on background topics and an introduction to a case study. The case study will then be solved individually or in groups and documented in a project report. The total workload for the course is expected to be 2 weeks including independent research and literature survey supporting the project work.Grading will be based on the project report, and will assess the candidate(s) ability to interpret, familiarize, reflect and apply the course topics.
