Læringsmål
Læringsutbytte - Kunnskap:
After completed the course, the student shall know the main principles for analysing a vessels sea-keeping performance and assessing a vessels manoeuvring capabilities.
Læringsutbytte - Ferdigheter:
The student shall be able to perform sea-keeping and manoeuvring analyses of a ship by using a computer program like e.g. SHIPX. The student shall be able to evaluate the results from hydrodynamic analyses and/or model test to an extent where they can contribute to improve the sea-keeping or manoeuvring characteristics of a vessel.
Læringsutbytte - Kompetanse:
The student will have a general understanding of the motion of ships at sea and be familiar with the terminology used in relevant academic and professional discussions of sea-keeping or manoeuvring of a vessel.
Læringsformer og aktiviteter
Pedagogiske metoder:
Class room lectures, homework and mandatory assignments.
Obligatoriske arbeidskrav:
2/3 of the assignments must be accepted and a mandatory project work must be submitted.
