Occupational-Based Approach to Social Entrepreneurship

20-30 occupational therapy students and staff from Nordic and Baltic countries will attend an Intensive course in week 45, 2018 at NTNU, Trondheim, Norway. Focus is on social entrepreneurship and how to address relevant issues in different Nordic and Baltic countries. Students will be working in international teams during the week. They will create a smaller innovative social entrepreneurship project based on pre-course work.

- The student develops an understanding of how creativity and innovation can promote health resources for daily life.

- Identify areas where occupational therapists can create social inclusion

Lectures, problem-based learning tutorials, group counselling, seminar/workshop, visits to entrepreneurs, self-directed study.

Pre-course work: Students describe a social occupational exclusion/deprivation challenge for a target group in their own society:

- Identify and describe a group of citizens who they view as being deprived or at risk of being deprived of access to occupation and participation in their everyday life. And in which aspects of their everyday life you find the group/groups deprived of occupation and participation?

- Prepare a presentation of the chosen target group with a focus on how the situation is for them in your own country, and the knowledge you have gathered in regards to their challenges with activities and participaiton.
