Thesis Preparation Course Work

This course builds on GEOG 3053, but it is targeted more on the various stages in the thesis work, from formulating the research problem to identifying an appropriate theoretical and/analytical approach. Through lectures and seminars the course seeks to give students a chance to reflect more in depth on these issues through studying of texts as well as more practical work such as formulating the problem and research questions, writing a literature review, styling and referencing. Hence, it seeks to facilitate the work for the students prior to their thesis work in the second year.

To prepare the students for thesis theory work.

Lectures/seminars (20 hours), group work and term paper formulation with compulsory seminar( 1 day).
The course is reserved for students admitted to the MPhil in Development Studies.
