FE8150 consists of 3 modules. The students choose two of the modules for in-depth focus, but must follow all modules in the course: I Nonlinear modelling and stability analysis II Advanced RF/microwave measurement techniques of linear and nonlinear components III Radar Remote Sensing I Nonlinear modelling and stability analysis Course content : Analysis of active nonlinear microwave components. Nonlinear modeling of transistors, active system components for transmitters and receivers in radio system. Modeling of nonlinear conditions in oscillators, power amplifiers and mixers. Parasitic Oscillations Responsible: Morten Olavsbråten II Advanced RF/microwave measurement techniques of linear and nonlinear components Course content: Calibration techniques, accuracy and repeatability in RF measurements. Measurements of linear and nonlinear components, both discrete and on wafer. Microwave instrumentation. Responsible: Morten Olavsbråten III Radar Remote Sensing Course content : Analysis of active and passive microwave remote sensing techniques, such as radar, radiometry, imaging radar, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), inverse SAR, interferometric SAR, and radar polarimetry both from satellite and airborne platforms. Responsible: Egil Eide
