Læringsmål

On completion of the course students should be familiar with selected themes in basic and applied research across the full spectrum of biological disciplines. Knowledge: The candidate will have: - knowledge and understanding about results from current multidisciplinary research, industry or management related projects in biological science and management - Understanding and use of relevant models, methods and analysis techniques - Knowledge about the activity of fellow master student projects - Understanding of relevant current scientific biological questions and relevance to sustainable management and use of natural resources Skills: - be able to present a scientific project, and to discuss and critically evaluate own work - formulate project goals, hypotheses and discussion in a scientific project - critically analyse and actively participate in discussing scientific materials/presentations General competence (attitudes): The candidate is able to: - communicate research results to specialists and to a broader audience through oral presentations in English - understand scientific content of topics unrelated to own specialised field - Have an open mind to explore natural sciences in a wider perspective - actively participate in scientific discussions
