Faglig innhold
The course will familiarize the students with analytical frameworks that are relevant to Urban Ecological Planning. These frameworks will be theoretically grounded and will be used by the students to analyse the empirical information collected through field work. The students will work in close supervision of the course coordinator to write out their field diaries, process the empirical information and complete the case study, theory and context chapters of their thesis. Subsequent chapters and the complete thesis will be written in the following Spring semester.
Læringsmål
Knowledge:The students will acquire knowledge about the various analytical frameworks that are relevant to Urban Ecological Planning and use these frameworks to analyse and structure their field work results. Some examples of analytical frameworks that have been used in earlier theses are - Livelhoods framework, capacity vulnerability framework, SWOT analysis and Logical Framework Approach (LFA).
Skills: The students will develop the ability to structure, analyse and present empirical information in logical form in order to make convincing arguments and well referenced and reasoned findings from research.
