About this course

Content

Materials theory: Structure, properties, applications, production, characterization and testing of materials. Materials life cycle and environmental impact. HSE: Internal control regulations, structure of internal control system, risk assessments, non-conformity treatment, audit of internal control system. Education Act §9a. Didactics: Teaching planning adapted to different student groups from 8-13. grades, with the development of teaching related to the subjects of material science and HSE.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge:

The candidate

  • Has basic knowledge of the structure of materials, and how this affects properties and applications - Has basic knowledge of production, characterization and testing of materials
  • Have knowledge of the material's life cycle and environmental impact
  • Know the content of the Internal Control Regulations and what requirements it places on building an internal control system. - Know the contents of Chapter 3 of the Education Act and its regulations, and how these can be implemented in their own teaching practice.
  • Has knowledge of curricula on 8-13. steps where material learning and HSE can be implemented

Skills:

The candidate

  • Can discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using selected materials
  • Can identify different materials and justify the use of a material
  • Can plan and execute project work in groups.
  • Can contribute to the work of building and maintaining an internal control system in a production engineering environment.
  • Can plan, implement, assess and document teaching and training

General competence:

The candidate

  • Understands the importance of preventive health environment and safety work and can communicate this both in writing and orally in their own teaching programs.
  • Can present project work in writing and orally and with the help of digital tools
  • Can apply their vocational, professional didactic and technological knowledge

Teaching methods

The course includes teaching seminars, preparation and self-study in advance and between the seminars. The working methods varies and may include lectures, group work, discussions, presentations, material laboratory tours, exercises and project work.
