Construction Engineering

Basic principles for construction work in rock and soils. The course has four parts, construction engineering, geotechnical engineering, road construction and VA technology.

Knowledge

• The candidate should be able to account for the principles of road construction and the requirements that are laid down and the basis for quantity calculation.
• The candidate should know the principles of drilling and blasting of rock, knowing the subject and knowing about different types of construction machinery. Must know the principles of rock work overground and underground.
• The candidate should be familiar with the construction of the VA network.
• The candidate should know common piping materials used in the VA system.
• The candidate should be familiar with the general requirements for the construction of a VA pipeline.
• The candidate will understand the structure of the soil and the geological processes that take place.
• The candidate will understand the use of soil as building engineering material and could see geotechnical problems.

General competence

• The candidate has skills in the use of professional sources, professional methods, as well as standards for planning, engineering, management, operation and maintenance in construction engineering.
• The candidate has insight into the importance of good practice and the life cycle perspective of the plant.
• The candidate has insight into how we base and calculate how interference in the terrain affects the safety of the construction industry.

Teaching as well as emphasis on work requirements / exercises between the collections. The working methods vary and may include lectures, group work, discussions, presentations, etc.
