About this course
Content
The program is aimed at the service industry, which includes people with disabilities as their customers. Candidates will learn about national and international laws, ethical considerations, needs assessments, various types of disabilities, facilitation, technical aids, how to communicate with people with loss of sensation or cognitive failure, how to help with injury or evacuation.
Learning outcomes
The candidates should be able to, after completing the course; national and international law, conduct ethical considerations in general and in specific situations, make needs assessments in general and in specific situations, have knowledge of various types of functional impairments, implement facilitation, have knowledge of technical aids, be able to communicate with persons with loss of sensation or cognitive failure, and be able to assist damage or evacuation.
Teaching methods
he course is online and based on self-study, with the exception of two sessions. There are a total of 10 themes, where each theme reveals with a multiple choice test. You move on to the next topic when the multiple choice test is passed. The first session is a start of the course, where we go through the course structure, how to answer the multiple choice tests and descriptions of requirements for the project assignment. In the second session, the multiple-choice tests are reviewed, some film material is reviewed as well as a review of the formalities regarding the project assignment. Both collections are digital. Attendance is mandatory. The course is also open to people who do not have study qualifications, but these are not allowed to sit for the exam.
