Knowledge:
After completing the course, the student will
Have basic knowledge of building physical contexts within heat transport, moisture and sound.
Have general knowledge of fire as a physical phenomenon.
Knowing the impact on buildings (climate) and indoor environment, and how to design buildings based on this.
Be familiar with technical authority requirements related to the performance.
Skills:
After completing the course, the student should be able to
Assess current building requirements and stresses.
Conduct assessment and calculation of heat and moisture transport in building parts and acoustics in buildings.
Calculate energy requirements and power requirements for a building, both manually and using tools.
Dimense heat, moisture and sound insulation
Perform fire engineering assessments of buildings, with emphasis on the protection of life and health.
Evaluate technical solutions against regulatory requirements or other user requirements.
Schedule and carry out laboratory tests.
General competence:
Communicate professionally with peers
Teaching methods
The learning form is mainly lectures, work with academic issues and some instrument use. In lectures, spreadsheets are used as digital tools for problem solving.
A central part of the course is two group-based projects. Normal group size is 4 - 5 students. In this connection, laboratory tests will be conducted, and this will take place over a longer period of time for the campus students.
Mandatory work requirements:
4 mandatory works that all must be approved. Two of the work are group projects, while the other two are individual. Part of the group assignment involves compulsory laboratory work on the Gjøvik campus.
For netbased students:
Most lectures are streamed, and there are recordings that are subsequently linked from the learning platform. Furthermore, pre-recorded video lectures are used as a supplement.
Tutoring is carried out both synchronously using Collaborate and asynchronous using forums. There is a plan for this on the learning platform.
There will be a collection focusing on instrument use and group work.
There are 4 work requirements that are required to pass the exam.
Estimated time spent:
Lectures: 60 hours
Organized tutoring: 10 hours
Work with compulsory assignments: 80 hours
Own effort: 120 hours
SUM 270 hours
