Language Proficiency 1

In this course students develop their proficiency in written and spoken German. Students must regularly produce texts or other works in German (for example translations, blog posts or videos).

KNOWLEDGE

The candidate

- has knowledge of German culture and society

- has knowledge of different types of texts and forms of expressions

- has basic knowledge of the German sentence structure

PROFICIENCY

The candidate

- can understand and communicate in German both in writing and orally at level B1

- can participate in conversations on known topics

- can use available resources (such as dictionaries, textbooks, reference works) to express themselves clearly and understandably

- can read, understand and discuss different types of German texts

GENERAL COMPETENCE

The candidate

- can reflect on central differences between Norwegian and German language and culture

A combination of lectures and group sessions including practical training in the use of German language.

Compulsory assignments:

- 75% mandatory attendance (in lectures and seminars)

The absence limit is intended to cover normal sick leave and similar situations. Therefore, you will not be granted valid absence from teaching based on a medical certificate, even if the absence is due to circumstances beyond your control.

In special cases, agreements for exemption can be made with the course coordinator, preferably at the start of the semester.

- 4-6 presentations/assignments (exact requirements given at the start of the semester)

Approved obligatory assignment is valid for 2 semesters (the semester in which the approval is given, plus the following semester).
